Where The Cotton Grows
by Vicki Harrison (petmagnet)
Camera:
Sony Cyber Shot DSC-H1
Location:
Jay, Florida

United States of America

Photographer Notes:
Taken in the field across from my home, this is a the inside of a cotton bloom. The blooms can be found in white, lavender/purple and pink in color on the same plant. The blooms are also mostly located closer to the ground early on. As pretty as fresh cotton is to view when the fields are filled out, I love seeing these blossoms each year first. Taken midday in windy conditions, no tripod. Cropped slightly, sharpened, adjusted brights and contrast and in Photofiltre.

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely photo with us and for the accompanying explanation. I never knew that cotton was so beautiful as a flowering plant as I have never seen it in my part of the world.
