Winter Apple Bananas
by Linn Smith (artisopus)
Camera:
Canon EOS 5-D
Location:
Oviedo, Florida

United States of America

Photographer Notes:
A unique fruit banana called Apple Banana whose flavor reminds one of an apple. This banana plant was transported from Miami when we moved to North Central Florida. Surprisingly, it continues to thrive here even though the climate is not as warm as South Florida.

Sounds scrummy. Would make a wonderful dessert.

A lovely scene from your area showing its vegetation at this time of the year. Are there special recipes for dessert using this unique fruit? What an interesting fruit with an interesting history as well. Happy New Year, Linn!

The fruit sounds really different, but also the plant - that stem must be awfully strong to support the weight of the bananas. Very cool shot!

I tried apple bananas while in Hawaii and loved them. Wish I could find them in New England. Great shot, and it brought a taste-memory back, which I thank you for!
