Low Tide on the Delaware-Raritan Canal
by Norma Smiles (JerseyGirl)
Camera: Sony A700
Location: Bordentown, New Jersey
United States of America
Photographer Notes: The Delaware-Raritan Canal was built between 1830 and 1834 mostly with hand tools and mostly by Irish immigrants. The canal's greatest use was in 1860 to 1870. While a great deal of the canal is restored and is now a state park, this is one of only two abandoned areas. It is located where the canal enters the Delaware River.
