Photographer Notes:

The fly won this round of "mantis and fly" that I witnessed these two playing for several minutes. The young mantis would attack and miss and the fly would return a few seconds later. The fly doesn't realize the role it's playing in sharpening the hunting skills of the young predator and soon, hopefully, it will be a tasty meal for our little garden guardian.
