Photographer Notes:
One of the most beautifull birds we have in the Netherlands. Very shy and small. Most of the time you only have some seconds to make a shot! This is very difficult with a manual lens ;-)

I love the bold, yet soft, silky color combinations in this little guy! I imagine they are quite like trying to take a focused shot of the hummingbird. Congratulations on capturing your subject and your POTD win!

Quite a capture here Walter. You have a stunning series of Kingfisher images. Most of us would be happy just to get one in the frame. :)
