I captured this nest with two eggs the night before this photo, when I arrived the next morning this little one had hatched overnight. Look closely at the egg in the nest as it is starting to hatch. The second egg hatched that night. Thank you for your kind comments and thank you PV for choosing this POTD.

What a little cutie with its mother's watchful eye so near. I love your story that accompanies the image too. How special to see the beginnings of new life so up close. Thanks for helping us to notice the egg the mother seems to be also watching closely. I see the little crack in the egg too. A great shot & a wonderful expression of the new life Spring brings...congrats!
