A Very Big Bucket
by Douglas Perry (cycla)
Camera: Nikon D-200
Location: Ohio
United States of America
Photographer Notes: the Big Muskie Bucket. The Big Muskie was the largest machine ever built. She was a drag-line and had a weight of 27 million pounds. The bucket has a weight of 230 tons empty. She moved over 608,000,000 cubic yards of soil in search of coal. That is twice the amount it took to build the Panama Canal. The bucket could hold 325 tons or the same volume as a 12 car garage. An HDR image.
