Beautiful capture of a tough subject Larry. Congrats on POTD! I would think this would be under the "wildlife" category however.

Wonderful capture, love the frost on its back, congrats!

Thanks Kathy and Claudia! Kathy, I agree about it being under the wrong category. This category was for all "Animals" when I submitted the photo. Wildlife is now combined with bugs.

Hi Larry! I was just calculating in my head whether this could be domesticated, but being from Yellowstone I did't think so. It was just an oversight I think. Still a great shot. I have taken hundred of these critters, always disappointed in my results. The frost really gave it some dimension and pizazz I think. Nice job.

FYI: I went with Domesticated on this one despite it being from Yellowstone because buffalo are (now) a more common livestock animal. Just for consistency sake, I won't distinguish based on their current location -- ala wild horses would also still fall under domesticated, because horses in general are domesticated. Regardless, great shot! Love the clarity of the eye.
