Burning off the Fog

Photographer Notes:
When we arrived at South Haven to take some captures of the lighthouse I was delighted to find a wonderful coating of fog all along the breakwater. It was just starting to burn off and the sun came through for some shadows of the catwalk. I was glad the two bathers at the end didn't dive off into the pea soup while I was there.

Excellent timing on this with the fog starting to dissipate. I can feel the fog's clamminess and the beginning warmth of the sun...

Lovely photo, Diane. I really like images of lighthouses, unfortunately they are not in our area. I like the effect of the fog and your DOF not to mention your overall composition. The light on the right and the end of the dock are in perfect 3rds. Tremendous work!

Very interesting and beautiful picture of the fog and lighthouse, Diane. It's very unusual to see a picture in which both the fog and the effects of the sun burning through the fog are both visible! You've captured both beautifully! Many congratulations on your POTD!
