A well thought out and nicely composed image paying tribute to our veterans. The title and the image itself are very moving allowing one to be grateful for those who made it back as well as being an appropriate reminder to take a moment of silence in recognition of those who have not had this good fortune. Today especially, we are reminded of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and their loved ones as well as those who are presently serving our country abroad. Congratulations on your POTD win, Jan!

It is hard for me to comment on this Beautiful Composition, Jan! My only son is in the USMC and it leaves me with an 'empty feeling', my friend. That aside... Excellent Work!!!

Thanks Pat and Glenn for commenting on my photo win. I must agree that serving one's country is a great honor and held with high respect, whether it's soldiers, firemen or police. Danger is always near and stress and tension for loved ones runs high. God bless you both.

Thanks for your comments John. Although most of us don't agree with war, we can still be patriotic. Thanks again.
