Leaping Into 2008

Photographer Notes:
2008 is a Leap Year, with an extra day in February. The bucks are leaping for joy as that gives them an extra day to do what deer do. This was taken on Dec. 31st, the last day of 2007.

WoW! Awesome capture Dick! I have been trying for a shot such as this but without any luck.I get it from a distance but not close range.Do you mind if I ask how close you were to your subject and what lens you were using?Congratulations on your win with this fabulous image Dick!

Thanks so much for the generous comments. Cheryl, I was about 33~35 feet away and used a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 lens with 1.7x teleconverter, zoomed out at 120mm.

Thank you for answering my question Dick.Now I know what lens I need to buy along with a teleconverter :) Maybe someday I will get lucky and get a shot such as this.I see the deer but not close enough
