A great shot of this unique bird with a loads of detail, nice color and great lighting too...love the shadows on the rock you captured in this lovely composition. Great eye detail too and I like the camouflaged look to the image..congrats, Rafael!

On first look, I thought this bird could've easily gotten lost in this picture for a couple of reasons but it didn't. All that background detail works, however, and the colours are very complimentary to the subject. What I really like is the light and also the shadows that Robin mentioned. A lot of photographers would not have gotten the excellent results you did, Raf. Excellent work!

Thank you all for the encouraging comments. This is of course a bush sTone-curlew (left out the T in the title) and the only reason I managed the shot was that when endangered they stand stock still giving the photographer a few goes at getting it right.
