Great colors! I can't really make out what it is, but it's a lovely abstract! it has a great old feeling to it :) Congratulations on the POTD!

Hi Caj and Linn, glad you liked the shot and thanks so much for your kind comments. It's a very striking maple tree that sheds it golden brown bark to reveal splotches of green and dark brown. The tree looks like it's wearing camouflage.

Thanks, Kathy, your comments are appreciated. I'm not sure what kind of maple it is, but it has very unusual bark that captures the light beautifully. Glad you liked it. Thanks, too, to Kevin for picking my picture.

The colours in this image are very appealing. What really knocked me out was the dappled sunlight and the effect it had on the various browns and subtle greens. Great shot!
