beautiful, one would think that mud ruins snow scenes and makes them ugly, but here the mud adds interest and contrast, well spotted and expertly executed.
Doug Havens commented on January 14, 2009 06:40:
I agree with Dov. The mud is a very interesting way to make a snow seen 'pop'. Congrats!

Gorgeous leading lines filled with mesmerizing qualities. The beautiful snow and tones, as well as the deep perspective make this an impacting and memorable photograph. Congratulations on another excellent win, Robin-Lee!

A lovely composition showing strong leading lines & interest with the curve of the river leading one through this attractive winter scene. I really like the beauty & freshness of the newly fallen snow especially apparent on the trees and river borders. I find the ripples in the water & the circular patterns from the falling snow to be very appealing as well. Congrats, Robin-Lee!

I like this very much......Yes, the mud surely does add to this image. It warms it, contributes contrast and texture and leads the eye down the stream....A very fine shot Robin-Lee! Congrats.

Thanks so much everyone! Alan..that stream runs under the road..and there is a barricade on both sides. I took it from atop a snowbank. Thanks again..much appreciated :O)
