Captured during a recent trip to Derry City in Northern Ireland.This bronze statue was one of a set of lifesize images erected in memory of those who perished during the Famine of 1845.

A great find, Helen, with a sad historical story behind this memorial couple. Very nice tones and textures...congrats!

I love how the the statues seem to be walking through the city. Black and white was an ideal choice for this subject. It helps make the statues and the city around them seem to belong to the same period! Many congratulations on your POTD!
