Photographer Notes:
You know when it's summer in Japan when you see cricket exoskeletons hanging on to leaves of plants and trees. The cacophony they create from 4 AM to around 7 PM during the summer months is deafening. A favorite summer pastime among Japanese kids is catching live bugs, and the crickets are not exempted. It has become such a fad that stores stock up on nets and plastic containers for the kids to use. By the end of summer, these creatures literally fall off the trees and the world is again silent...
