Wow...an awesome closeup of an eye! Incredible sharpness and great color...a really dynamic capture! Congratulations on your win today!

Thanks Linn, I should have posted notes with this image. It is taken throught a slit lamp biomicroscope with a Canon 720IS held up to the eyepiece. The point of interest is the hole to the right where the brown iris should join the white sclera at a junction called the limbus. Some past trauma has caused the iris to be torn away from the attachment site. This causes some flaccidity to the iris and thus the pupil is not perfectly round. Thanks for looking. Bill

A dynamic & dramatic capture, Bill, of an unfortunate situation. You can tell that you are an optical professional both by the photo & your explanation of it...fascinating for sure....congrats!

Thanks everyone. To answer Renee: I am an optometrist, so I see a lot of unusual ocular problems. What is amazing is what you can accomplish with a point and shoot through a 5K microscope. I used to clamp an SLR to the eyepiece, but have found that I do better with the point and shoots. Thanks again, Bill
