Thank you all for the nice comments. This photo was taken at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. It is a bird and wildlife refuge, one of the few within a city limit.

A grand shot of this egret with simply fabulous feather detail & tack sharp focus & exposure. I really like the S-shaped curve of the neck, the intensity of its expression & the DOF...many congrats, Bill!
