no idea what manner of creature that might have belonged to... if any!... but the sense of "alien-ness" is unmistakable. well conceived, well photographed, and well processed. congrats on the POTD!

Thank you for all of the kind comments on this image. This is an exhibit in the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum. Taking this shot was difficult because I was shooting through a plastic protective cover in low light with no tripod. There was considerable manipulation in PS Elements to make the image presentable.
