Thank you, Karen, Joe, and Linn! Joe, the Nikon D300 is a DSLR and I did have a long lens; but this bird was not shy and only about 20 feet away.

Hi Wally......I have a similar hawk that visits my backyard frequently....I think because of all my bird feeders! Wonderful capture and congratulations!

Thank Lorraine and Patrice! Though I often get red-tailed hawks at my backyard bird feeders; this one was at a local park. It was a juvenile and was actually looking down at me and my camera setup.
