Al Capone's Cell

Photographer Notes:
This is the cell which housed mobster Al Capone. It is located at the Easter State Penetentiary in Philadelphia, PA. This prison has not been a functioning facility since 1979, but it provides exceptional photo ops.

Thanks, Kathy. There is a light source above, but certainly no window. Compared to the living quarters for the other prisoners, this was like the Waldorf!

Wow, what a cell or palace at the time to comfortably house such a gangster...shows the power he had because of money & connections. Seriously, though, this is a terrific capture with great lighting...congrats, Richard!

Thank you, Dov. Actually, I used no flash, just a tripod and AE-BKT, 5 shots at 0.7. Shot RAW and processed in Photomatix Pro.
