Congratulations on winning the photo of the day! The car in the photo is either a 59’ or 60’ corvette. The yellow plates were issued in 56’ and were used through 62’. In 56’, the idea was to issue, each year, a metal tag with that years number on it, which would fit in two slots on each side of number 56. Since that was too expensive the state decided to issue stickers for each year instead. The new sticker went between the word California and the number 56. In 63’ they went to black plates with yellow lett
