What a privilege to have these battles re-enacted yearly in your area, Norma, making our history all the more real. A great shot of the muskets firing...like the inclusion of both the frontier men & the blue coat soldiers both so vital to the war. Congrats on a terrific winner today!
Linn Smith commented on December 30, 2010 11:36:
A wonderful re-enactment of this battle capturing the uniforms and firing of the muskets with a grand flair! Good view of the spactators in the background watching...congratulations on your win today!

Gorgeous capture, Norma. It looks almost authentic (spectators cannot be invisible!). Congrats!

Thank you all for your kind comments. They are most appreciated. The Battle was "fought" on December 26th at 11:00 AM, the day of the blizzard. It was starting to snow already. Oh, was it cold and the wind was blowing hard! Maybe a little less historical accuracy would have been more comfortable. By the time of the second battle re-enactment, the storm was in full fury and they had to cancel. Fortunately George Washington did not cancel. These are the battles that turned the tide of the war.

What a great image capture! We don't get these types of historical re-enactments on the west coast. Congrats Norma!

I enjoy your historical summaries as much as your images, Norma...being a fellow "Jerseyan"! I commend you for your perseverance in the face of our blizzard! Terrific capture, congratulations on your win!
