While the Church Was Silent.

Photographer Notes: In Southern Germany between Holy Thursday and Easter Vigil, the church bells go silent. The bells are replaced by children marching through the towns chanting and using these contraptions we call "clackers", not sure of the German name. They start Thursday evening during "the arrest", start back up at 0600 on Good Friday and make their rounds every hour culminating on Saturday evening when Christ was ressurected.
