This was a cold day. I set out to photograph skiers on the man-made snow hills near Boone, but there were none - it was just too cold!

It was bitter. I've also done a posturization of the shot which makes it look even more bitter. Out here we have mostly "vast expanse" which doesn't look so much so when the corn is up! Thanks for looking.

Well Stanley it sure is different than the photo I submitted! No wonder you commented about "rubbing it in." I have been to Iowa in the winter and I have never forgot the experience. Love the picture. Looks just like what I remember.

Thanks for the comment Roger. It is better to "remember" this kind of day than to have to live with it! My comment on your great shot was green with envy and that's about all the green we'll see for the next 3 months.

Iowa is noted for its many fields...but it is most certainly not the season for crops. This photo shows a lot of depth to the land and the tracks from front to back give it added interest as well. Have a blessed Christmas, Stanley!
