9-11 Rescue

Photographer Notes: I rescued this tiny, little Hummingbird from my feeder Sunday morning. She was hanging upside down by her feet from the perch! I brought her inside the house, warmed her up and gave her some "ER Nectar" then put her inside this tall glass vase and gave her a perch to sit on. She rested a while and seemed to regain her composure, flying around the inside and acted as though she was ready to go. I released her but she wasn't strong enough to clear the fence. I picked her up and put her in a tissue-lined cardboard box this time. Unfortunately...she didn't recover a second time and expired.
Sad coincidence this should occur on the Observance of 9/11.
