CyberSync Flash Triggering System

...Paul C. Buff readies shipments of wireless flash trigger

Paul C. Buff company, the makers of the incredible and stylish Alienbees flash units are preparing to ship the CyberSync series of remote flash triggers. They offer a transmitter and either a battery or AC powered receiver. The CyberSync works with 16 frequencies and is FCC compliant unlike some of the import units found on ebay and other sites.

"It is important to note that non-FCC devices are illegal to use or sell in the USA and that users and sellers can be subject to criminal charges and/or confiscation." (EEP! I have one of these illegal units! Er... A friend does. A very DISTANT friend.)

The CyberSync system consists of...

CST Transmitter: This miniaturized trigger transmitter mounts directly to the hot shoe of most cameras or via supplied PC sync cable. It transmits a trigger signal, at one of sixteen selectable frequencies, for reception by any CyberSync™ receiver. CST is powered by an inexpensive, quickly replaceable lithium coin cell battery with a typical life of one to two years, whether the CST is used regularly or infrequently.

CSR (AC powered) and CSRB (battery powered) receiver/repeater): When set to the same frequency as the transmitter, these receivers can fire most studio flash units and speed-lights, as well as most popular professional cameras using appropriate auxiliary cables. They are transceivers and employ a repeater function that can be set to relay trigger signals to other receivers that might be outside the useful range of the transmitter. The AC powered CSR contains an inline powering scheme so it may be connected to studio flash units without the need of extension cords or added power cords or adaptors. The battery powered CSRB employs a pair of standard Alkaline or rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. Typical on-time battery life is 200 hours. CSRB automatically shuts off after one hour of non-use. Thus, in typical use the battery life is approximately 50 four-hour sessions. Battery replacement is quick and easy and requires no tools.

CST: $59.95, CSR or CSRB: $69.95 direct from Paul C. Buff, Inc. with a 60-day absolute satisfaction guarantee, and a 2-year factory warranty.
