National Monument
by Raymond Pauly (raypauly)
Camera:
Canon EOS 350-D / Canon Digital Rebel XT
Location:
San José

Costa Rica

Photographer Notes:
This monument, known as the "National Monument" is in the center of San José's National Park. The monument represents the fallen heroes who fought against the invaders who wanted to take over the country in 1948. This spot is very close to my place of work and I very frequently take walks there. I went there today looking for a subject to participate in "World In Pictures". This photo was taken after heavy rain, which we are having mostly every day now. The rainy season in Costa Rica lasts six months (with good luck) or more.

It's a very nice statue and I can see why you chose it to be your WPD object! Very nicely composed, I like the photo very much!

It looks like a fresh new shot with the pools of water. I like it! Thanks for sharing!
