A great shot of this place in St. Nazianz which brings back memories. I visited it when it was still up and running and the grounds were quite busy. Congrats, Al!

This photograph has such a lonely feel, one could readily believe that it is haunted.
Renee Harrell commented on February 07, 2009 08:22:
It seems a sad waste of a beautiful building like that. Economic times has "colored" (pun intended...!) this image for you, Al. This should make the school board rethink utilizing this property for something... Well seen, Al, congrats on your win today!

Another lovely snow scene, I wish it would snow where I live. Congratulations on your Photo of the Day win Al.

That is interesting Pat,when was that? I forgot to mention that the title is from the sign at the gate on when people are allowed on the grounds. The history of this place comes up real soon on a search of JFK Prep. Thank you all for you comments.

With the muted winter tones and your perspective it certainly does convey the sense of being haunted! Congratulations on your win today!
Suzanne Buckles commented on February 07, 2009 14:26:
The snow makes this seem more "haunting". It's essence is well captured and I enjoyed your sharing of how you titled the photo. Gongrat on your POTD.

Al, in the mid to late 60s and early 70s etc., I lived very near to Valders and the St. Nazianz area. I visited JFK prep several times and it was flourishing with Salvatorian Seminarians at that time. The grounds were plush with beauty and the seminarians used to produce some great plays in their theater and the public loved to attend them. They were pretty good at basketball too.
