Summer's Last Hurrah
by Bren Grubb (sunnyg123)
Kodak Z650

Photographer Notes:
Everyone was rushing to get on before the boat pulled away with it's festive music playing. Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain once road this riverway as a child. This is the Mark Twain Riverboat.

Wonderful capture Bren! Mark Twain is one of my favorite folks. The sternwheeler (single stack) 'Delta King' was land-locked, and had been refitted to use as a bunkhouse for 400 construction workers at Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada in 1952-1954. (She's in Sacramento now as a fancy eating place.) As younsters we were never allowed to board her but I sure admired her from the sidelines. Your image brings back many many fond memories of being a pioneer child in North West B.C. Thanks for that, and thanks f
