2009 International Garden Photographer of the Year Crowned

  ...Jonathan Bermen wins for "In Tresco Abbey Gardens"

The wait is over, the green thumbs can all be washed, the second annual International Garden Photographer of the Year has been announced. He is Jonathan Berman of the United Kingdom for his work entitled "In Tresco Abbey Gardens" shot in the Scilly Isles. Berman wins international recognition, acclaim, and most importantly £5,000 ($7,517 USD).

Winners in the portfolio, youth and category contests were also revealed and can be viewed at http://www.igpoty.com/competition02/winners.asp.

The third contest is already underway with entries accepted until November 30, 2009. The book "International Garden Photographer of the Year Collection 02" which features all the winners, finalists, and commended images will be available starting May 23, 2009 at most book retailers.
